Rdmsr_on_cpu
WebThis patch adds rdmsr_safe_on_cpu_resched() which does not spin. I use this function from msr_read() but future patches might convert other callers to use this variant as well. Overall daemon cpu usage was reduced by 35 %, and latencies caused by msr_read() disappeared. WebApr 22, 2012 · 1) msr-tools This allows me to read the msr values from the command line. Webneeded cpu by means of set_cpus_allowed() to execute rdmsr, some "virtual cpu" feature can migrate process to anywhere. This triggers bugons and does wrong things in general. This got fixed by introducing rdmsr_on_cpu and wrmsr_on_cpu executing rdmsr and wrmsr on given physical cpu by means of smp_call_function_single(). WebJul 29, 2024 · I would recommend using rdmsr to read the documented MSR number (0x690) on each core, since Intel is unlikely to provide guidance on the meaning of bit fields in an MSR that is undocumented on your processor (0x64f). Anyway, the reported value also shows that bits 28, 27, 26 are set.
